Managed IT & CMMC Services in Richmond, VA
Richmond’s defense economy runs on supply. Defense Supply Center Richmond — headquarters of DLA Aviation — sits just south of the city, and the sustainment mission at Fort Gregg-Adams is down I-95, which makes Greater Richmond a town of suppliers: manufacturers, distributors, MRO shops, and logistics firms whose purchase orders increasingly arrive with DFARS clauses attached.
CLOUD2E brings those suppliers what the clauses assume they have: managed IT, 24/7 security operations, and CMMC compliance from an MSP that holds Level 2 certification itself — delivered remote-first from Northern Virginia, with onsite work scheduled when the job needs it.
// The Richmond landscape
Built for how Richmond works
Richmond’s DIB looks different from Northern Virginia’s: more plants and warehouses, fewer badge-and-laptop consultancies. The CUI here is technical data — drawings, specs, and part files flowing down from DLA and prime contracts — and it tends to live in engineering shares and ERP attachments rather than program portals. Many of these businesses have run lean on IT for years, which means CMMC lands as both a culture change and a systems project. Our job is to make it mostly a systems project.

// CMMC in Richmond
CMMC Level 2, from a provider that holds it
For manufacturers and suppliers, scoping is everything: the production floor usually does not belong in the assessment boundary, and the engineering data that does can be concentrated into a controlled enclave. We separate FCI-only workflows from true CUI, build the enclave around the technical data, remediate to NIST SP 800-171, and prepare you for the C3PAO assessment — without dragging the whole plant into scope.

// Richmond FAQ
Asked by Richmond organizations
We make parts under DLA contracts. Do we need Level 1 or Level 2?
It depends on whether you receive controlled technical information or only FCI. Plenty of suppliers genuinely need Level 1 self-assessment, not Level 2 — and knowing which you are is the first thing we establish, because the cost difference is enormous.
Does the production floor have to be part of the assessment?
Usually not. If CUI never touches shop-floor machines, segmentation keeps them out of scope — the enclave concentrates on where drawings and specs actually live. We design exactly that boundary and document it so an assessor can verify it quickly.
You are based in Northern Virginia. How does support work in Richmond?
Monitoring, helpdesk, and compliance work are remote by nature and run 24/7. Onsite work — network segmentation, hardware refreshes, assessment week — is scheduled, and Richmond is a straight shot down I-95 from our headquarters.
Every Richmond compliance client also receives the CLOUD2E CMMC Tracker — our own application for registries, assessments, POA&M, and evidence — at no additional cost.
