Edge Transport & Network Engineering
The network layer, engineered deliberately and managed for keeps.
Overview
Every security story ultimately crosses a network you either control or merely inhabit. CLOUD2E engineers the edge deliberately: main-office and remote-site networking, firewall architecture and management, and secure remote access that treats the public internet as the hostile transit it is.
Our network practice carries the same discipline as everything else we run: documented topologies, configuration baselines under change control, and monitoring that notices degradation before your users do. For defense suppliers, the network layer is also evidence — segmentation claims, boundary protections, and encrypted transport that your SSP asserts and your assessor verifies. We build networks whose paperwork matches their packets.
Edge Transport & Network Engineering
Engineering
Delivered by an MSP that holds its own CMMC Level 2 certification.
// What's included
Inside the service
Office & site networking
Design, build, and refresh of wired and wireless networks — performance where people work, isolation where risk lives.
Firewall management
Perimeter and internal firewalls under continuous management: rulebase hygiene, firmware currency, and change control with an audit trail.
Secure remote access
Modern VPN and zero-trust access for a workforce that is everywhere, with device posture checks before the door opens.
Segmentation engineering
VLAN and policy architectures that keep labs, OT, guests, and enclaves provably separated.
Multi-site connectivity
Site-to-site transport between offices, clouds, and facilities with encryption and failover designed in.
Network monitoring
Availability and performance telemetry with alerting we actually watch — part of the same 24/7 operation as the rest of your stack.
// How we deliver
The working rhythm
01
Map
Document what exists — topology, rulebases, dependencies — because you cannot defend a network you cannot draw.
02
Design
Target architecture balancing performance, segmentation, and cost, reviewed with you before a single cable moves.
03
Implement
Staged cutovers in maintenance windows, with rollback plans and zero tolerance for cowboy changes.
04
Operate
Ongoing management under change control, monitored 24/7, documented continuously.
Who it's for
Organizations whose edge grew organically — offices wired by three vendors across ten years, firewalls nobody will claim, remote access from the pandemic era — and anyone opening, moving, or consolidating sites across the DMV.
Why CLOUD2E
Network claims are the easiest place for compliance to die in assessment: segmentation that is asserted but not enforced, rules nobody can explain. Ours hold, because the provider engineering them is CMMC Level 2 certified and documents networks the way assessors read them.
// FAQ
Questions we hear about edge transport & network engineering
Can you take over firewalls another vendor installed?
Yes — takeover engagements start with a rulebase audit and configuration backup, then a cleanup plan you approve. You get documentation of what every rule does, usually for the first time.
Do you handle office moves and build-outs?
End to end: design, cabling coordination, circuit ordering, cutover, and first-week onsite support. Moves are a chance to fix the edge properly — we make sure you take it.
Our lab equipment cannot be firewalled conventionally. Options?
Segment and broker: isolate the lab, control the crossing points, and document compensating controls. It is standard practice in our manufacturing and engineering client base.
